Elizabethtown

Danielle and I just watched Elizabethtown.

This movie got a lot of bad reviews.

I think that the only logical conclusion is that a lot of movie critics don't bother watching the movies they review. It's a shame this movie got panned so badly, when it's a really beautifully done film. It falls somewhere between Big Fish and Garden State as far as the subject matter goes, with a fair bit of road tripping thrown in. I can definitely see why [info]mikefireball would be a fan.

It's a really, really good movie. See it.

Well the one big difference between Garden State & Elizabethtown is that Elizabethtown is a good movie.

Garden State has its problems, but it still a good movie in parts. Besides, the subject matter comparison is a given.

Garden State was an okay movie worsened by overhype.

Also, nothing about the Shins is, was, or ever will be life-changing.
Unless, you know, they find Jesus or something.

Worsened by hype, yes. Agreed.

Whole-heartedly disagree on the second point. Well, I mean, maybe not life-changing, but at least freakin' amazing
